POWER DRIVE
Map Compilation by Alex "RyokoTK" Bolton
Version 1.4.0 | August 31, 2010

INTRODUCTION
Power Drive is an experimental map pack concept with the intention of bringing a new style of gameplay to the fore and take the emphasis off of the typical rocket/shotgun combo prevalent in basically every other map. This is done in three ways: by deliberate map design decisions, by embedding physics to strengthen the weaker weapons, and by embedding Lua to bring powerups more into the forefront of gameplay.

PHYSICS CHANGES
Below are the changes to the physics. All of the weapons function more or less as normal, but changes have been made to balance them together.
 * Overall: all weapon switching takes 1/3 of a second regardless of what the weapons are.
 * Fists: unchanged
 * Pistols: more damage
 * Fusion: more damage and shots travel faster
 * Assault Rifle: bullets are substantially more accurate but damage is unchanged; grenades have a much larger explosion area
 * Shotgun: less accurate and less powerful
 * Alien Weapon: more damage; weapon always holds 70 shots; shots travel faster; ammo bar is visible on screen
 * Missile Launcher: less damage
 * Flamethrower: unchanged
 * SMG: more accurate and more damage

POWERUP CHANGES
Powerups have also been changed around to factor those into the gameplay. The main addition is the "minihealth," a Quake-style incremental health booster. Other powerups have been weakened. All powerups now spawn on fixed intervals.
 * Minihealth: heals 35 health (max 150); looks like a 1x can; 25 second respawn
 * Double health: 60 second respawn; depletes at 2.5 health per second
 * Triple health: 75 second respawn; depletes at 5 health until yellow, after which 2.5/sec.
 * Invisibility: 75 second respawn; lasts 45 seconds instead of default 70

LEVEL DESIGN
Maps have a combination of open main battlegrounds and peripheral spaces with cover, as well as more sniper ledges, to accommodate multiple playing styles. While some maps still have a strong focus on the more powerful weapons, the idea is to bring a little bit more balance and interactivity between the other weapons. That said, maps still have enough rockets to support people that prefer the standard rocket play (or lag too much for other weapons).
